Injectable D-Glucose
Apparel And Supplies For Gamecocks: Description of the product For whenever a burst of energy is required. There is little need for breakdown during digestion, and it is absorbed immediately. Gamecock Apparel And Supplies: This is the sugar that the body uses as fuel. Administration & Dosage:
12 cc to 1 cc during the last two days of the Keep and the morning of the competition.
Dosage
The concentration and dosage of an intravenous glucose solution depends on several factors including the age, weight, and clinical condition of the patient. Serum glucose concentrations may require close monitoring.
The recommended dosage for the treatment of water and carbohydrate depletion is:
Adult: 500 mL to 3 liters/24 h.
Pediatric population
The rate and volume of infusion depend on the age, weight, clinical and metabolic status of the patient and concomitant treatment. The solution should be administered by experienced personnel.
- 0-10 kg body weight: 16.7 mL/kg/24 h.
- 10-20 kg body weight: 166.7 mL + 8.3 mL/kg above 10 kg/24 h.
-
20 kg body weight: 250 mL + 3.3 mL/kg above 20 kg/24 h.
The infusion rate should not exceed the patient’s glucose oxidation capacity (e.g. impaired oxidative glucose metabolism in the early postoperative or posttraumatic period or in the presence of hypoxia or organ failure), in order to avoid hyperglycaemia. Therefore, maximum doses are 5 mg/kg/min for adults and 10 to 18 mg/kg/min for neonates, infants and children, depending on age and total body mass.
When GLUCOSE 30% AGUETTANT, solution for infusion is used as a vehicle or diluent for the injectable preparation of other medicinal products, the dosage and infusion rate will depend mainly on the nature and dosage of the medicinal product to be administered.
Fluid balance, serum glucose, serum sodium and other electrolytes may need to be monitored before or during administration, particularly in patients with excessive non-osmotic release of vasopressin (syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion, SIADH) and in patients receiving concomitant vasopressin agonist drugs, due to the risk of hyponatraemia.
Monitoring of serum sodium is particularly important for physiologically hypotonic solutions. GLUCOSE 30% AGUETTANT, solution for infusion may become extremely hypotonic after administration due to metabolism of glucose in the body (see sections 4.4, 4.5 and 4.8).
Mode d’administration :
Central intravenous infusion only.
Perform the infusion slowly and regularly over 24 hours, using a central venous catheter with the distal end located at the entrance to the right atrium and, if possible, use an adjustable flow pump.
When the solution is used for the dilution and administration of complementary drugs by intravenous infusion, the instructions for use of the added substances will determine the appropriate volumes for each treatment.
For precautions to be taken before handling or administering the medicinal product, see section 6.6
